It started twenty five years ago in a small town known as Woodsboro, when the first of a series of murders was committed. Shane Kohler, the son of the town's mayor and the star quarterback of Woodsboro High was found dead on the football field, a number one carved into his forehead. One by one more vanished, all of different ages and walks of life, until the total reached nine. The town was in a state of panic, up until the local police received an anonymous tip that led them to the home of Benjamin Denyer. After a small investigation five more bodies were found in the quarry, which led to the prosecution of Denyer, who was found guilty on all accounts and was put to death in 1999. In January of this year a memorial engraved with Shane Kohler and the other eight victims, including those whom were never found, names was erected, as a reminder of the fateful day in October 1983 when a town was changed forever.
